It’s been a while…

Hello folks!

Don’t you fret, I haven’t forgotten about life hacks. Just today, I showed my roommate this easy tip for untying plastic bags

Untie a plastic bag

It’s such a simple trick!

Another trick that I found recently is that take-out boxes can actually unfold to make a serving plate.

I still have to try this.

My second semester has just started up, so I’ve been busy. But this blog has still been on my mind, like a long lost love… Okay, just kidding.

I’ll catch you later!

Happy Thanksgiving!

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving, I’d like to share a life hack that will definitely come in handy for the next few days!

Did you know that Benjamin Franklin wanted to make the turkey the National Bird of the United States of America?  In America, turkeys are actually native birds. Even though the turkey didn’t end up on our national seal or printed on our currency, the mighty turkey has become a symbol for Thanksgiving and is a staple food for numerous American holidays. As a woman of my word, I put this trick to the test, to some interesting results. Now I am here to tell you about my pancake ordeal. But let me start my story at the beginning… Continue reading

Many Uses of Kool-Aid

What if I told you that Kool-Aid is more than just a refreshing, thirst-quenching beverage?

To be honest, I don’t drink Kool-Aid very often. I’m more of a Tang fan myself, but who can’t resist a boost of flavor for only 10 cents? There are so many different flavors, (and colors) to choose from! I’m sure everybody has tried Kool-Aid at least once in their lives, and lots of people have some packets of Kool-Aid somewhere in their kitchen cupboards. I found these packets in my apartment hiding on top of my refrigerator. Continue reading

What is a “Life Hack?”

According to the Oxford Dictionaries, a “life hack,” or “lifehacking” is an informal noun meaning: a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one’s time and activities in a more efficient way.

Here’s another definition from Don Schenck: A “lifehack” is a technique or idea that helps or prevents you. For example, putting your car keys in your leftover bag of lunch at work will prevent you from going home without your leftovers.

Any useful idea can come from someone else, or it can come from one’s own creativity. Continue reading
